AN ONGOING CONVERSATION ON WHAT IT MEANS TO BE HUMAN.

ON WHAT IT MEANS TO BE SEEN, AND TO SEE OTHERS

ON WHAT IT MEANS TO PAUSE, TO LOOK INWARD.

WHAT IS PORTRAITS OF SELF?

At its heart, Portraits of Self is an exploration of what connects us beneath the surface.

A space for honesty.

For connection.

For the quiet corners of ourselves that rarely find language.

Through simple, thoughtful prompts, it invites pause, a moment to turn inward and meet yourself as you are.

Each response becomes a small act of honesty, a fragment of the shared human story.

EVENTS

The Portraits of Self initiative can take many forms in many event environments

CIRCLES OF REFLECTION

Soft, intimate gatherings - women’s circles, small group reflections, or classrooms of curious minds. Spaces where stories are shared, questions are explored, and the act of being seen becomes a form of healing.

COMMUNITY COLLABORATIONS

Events that take shape through others — schools, artists, or anyone moved by the idea of connection. Each one adds a new layer to Portraits of Self, reminding us that reflection grows when it’s shared.

WORKSHOPS IN BLOOM

Creative sessions that weave prompts with flowers, color, and making. Guided moments where hands and hearts work together — arranging, writing, and creating meaning from the ordinary.

DRAW YOUR PORTRAIT

Everyone has a story worth holding.

Choose a prompt that speaks to you, answer it in your own words, your own way.

There’s no right or wrong, no need to polish or perfect.

Just honesty. Just you.
